Mbwoge William Fund

"People do not eat each other, they serve one another. So, you better learn and get better and better to serve and serve." Mbwoge William Akwe (1901-1983)

Celebrating the memory of Mbwoge William Akwe, father of the founding Executive Director of EITD Research, is what this Fund is about. He was a farmer, mystic philosopher, whose saintly motto of learning and serving underpins the mission and strategic objectives of EITD Research.

The Mbwoge William Fund aims to encourage people from all walks of life to engage in improving and expanding scholarship and service in society. It promotes:

  •  Prospection, stocktaking and evaluation of scholarship or service efforts;
  •  Recognition of steadfast commitment to scholarship or service;
  •  Outstanding quality in scholarship or service, especially in deprived circumstances;
  •  Innovation in scholarship or service, especially in deprived circumstances; and,
  •  Significant advances in quality or scale of scholarship or service.
